I read the book Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson, and it is really a book about a girl who is a social outcast. She is basically hated by all high schoolers right now and I dont think that it is that great. It is just kind of quiet and unusual but I am going to keep reading it because i want to know whats going to happen. I am on page 45 or somewhere around there and i'm not sure really what the big plot or problem is. i might not reccomend it yet but we will have to wait and see about it.
This girl, Melinda, apparently called the police on a party over the summer, (i just read that part where i find out why she has no friends so i dont know many details) and all of her friends hate her and arent talking to her anymore. The feeling is all kind of depressing right now because she is having trouble talking to anyone and making new friends. I think that the girl should just speak up and just really make new friends, so that she won't feel so lonely. it might also let her turn in more work, and actually do her homework without just taking a nap. Her parents are not really supportive and they really dont communicate well. they leave notes instead of talking.

The book isnt my favoritte so far but we'll seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...
ReplyDeleteI loved this book when I read it about 5 years ago. Now they have a movie on it. It must be really hard for her to speak up when the whole school is ignoring her or being super rude. It reminds me of a book I am reading now called Evolution, Me and Freaks of Other Nature. Similar plot of a group not speaking to the main character but I don't know why yet. You might wanna check it out.
ReplyDeleteok, thanks... i just found out why she was being ignored. i dont quite get it yet and i still dont really have a good or bad preference on it yet.
